We captured the latest version of the Cadillac Escalade-V muscle SUV while performing high-altitude testing in Colorado mountains. If you look closely, you'll notice that both the standard model and the extended-length ESV were part of the test group.
Pay particularly close attention to the new, unique to the Escalade-V front fascia that is more aggressive than that of the regular model. Note the set of dark, multi-spoke wheels and automatically-retractable running boards that can clearly be seen on this prototype.
The most exciting aspect of this new people hauler is what's between the front two wheels. Motivation for the Escalade-V is expected to come from a supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, the same unit used in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing where it produces 668hp and 659 lb-ft of torque.
Another indicator of the upgraded power plant under the hood is the set of four exhaust tips that enable the exciting SUV to properly breathe. However, the exhaust tips appear to be missing the production exhaust inserts.
A 10-speed automatic transmission is expected, as is standard Magnetic Ride Control.
