Confirming prior rumors that the outdoor-themed model is on the way, we just snapped our first photos of the upcoming '22 Subaru Outback Wilderness Edition.
The prototype, which is shown here with little camouflage, features a slight increase in ground clearance compared to other Outback models currently on the market. It has smaller diameter black wheels wrapped in thicker sidewall, all-terrain tires, a revised grille, and an all-new front fascia that has repositioned fog lights moved from the outside edges of the lower front fascia to the inside of the lower grille.
Likely a more robust suspension system is beneath the larger fender flares.
The Outback Wilderness Edition is reportedly one of many such models on the way from Subaru, with the Forester and Crosstrek allegedly in for similar treatment.
Expect a launch in the latter half of 2021.
