Feast your eyes on the new 2022 Subaru Forester, revealed for the first time while testing in Detroit, Michigan. Yes, we know, soft-roaders usually don't make it into a poster on your kid’s wall, but what compact SUVs lack in excitement, they make up for in versatility and practicality.
Here's what the ultra-capable Subaru overlanding/kid hauler is going to look like in the future.
Exterior Updates
The latest, fifth generation Forester debuted back in 2018 at the NY auto show, and it was overdue for a facelift. Updates to the crossover Subaru are primarily focused on the front end where it appears there’s a new front fascia, new headlamps, updated LED fog lights, and a new grille design.
Possible New Engine Options
Under the hood, it’s safe to expect the tried and true 2.5L four-cylinder boxer engine that gets up to 33mpg. But, through the rumor mill, we’ve heard Subaru may offer an optional 1.8L four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine, both of which would be paired to a continuously variable transmission and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
Pending Release
Likely, the official online debut will be in mid 2021, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on this crossover car in the upcoming months.
