5. Super Streetfighter: '16 Steeda 'Stang
This 2016 Mustang started out life as a humble GT model, but quickly outgrew that state when owner Steven Jay talked to Steeda about making it a Q750. The first big mod was a 2.9L Whipple supercharger and the necessary accessories to support it which increased the stock power by nearly 40-percent.
With all the extra power, he needed some bigger wheels and a larger set of stickier-than-stock tires in the form of NT05 front tires and a pair of NT05R street-legal drag radials from Nitto. (Click here to see the full article)
4. Second to None Mach 1: Stunning '69 Mustang with a DOHC 4.6L V8
As a life-long Mustang fan, John Godfrey's '69 Mustang was not his first by any accounts. But this time around, he took the time to save up with his wife to get a '69 Mach 1 that would still be far more powerful than stock, but would still be practical around town for daily driving duties.
They swapped in a supercharged 32-valve 4.6L Mod motor under the Acapulco Blue hood which looks perfect in the engine bay. (Click here to see the full article)
3. Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s RTR Mustang All-Electric Mach-E 1400
Blasphemy! Should this thing even be called a Mustang? Let's review the facts: It's technically called a Mustang, it looks like it would be a lot of fun to drive, and this highly-modified version of the base model proves that there will be plenty of ways to customize the model for power/performance/looks—so we're going with it.
Ford did a good job making this EV appear far more exciting than most of the electric vehicles out there, the only exception being Tesla, which Ford has clearly set its sights on. (Click here to read more about the RTR Mach-E)
2. Beast Mode Mustang: A Blown S550 Packing 900hp
This 2018 S550 started life as a humble GT model, but, like most Mustang owners, Jesse Prater couldn't resist modifying it. The story is a common one—he got a taste of supercharged power after riding in a friend's blown Mustang, and within a year he had transformed it into the beast you see before you now.
Among a host of supporting go-fast goodies, it sports a 3.0L Stage II Whipple supercharger underneath the bulging black hood and Nitto NT555 G2 tires on all four corners for excellent on-road traction. (Click here for the full feature)
1. Helleanor: A Wicked '68 Mustang Build Influenced by "Gone in 60 Seconds"
Mind you, we're talking about the movie made in 2000, not the original "Gone in 60 Seconds." While there is no shortage of car builds inspired by hero movie cars, it's very rare that the car-inspired-by is actually better than the car that inspired it. Does that make sense? Anyway, this custom 1968 Mustang is flawless in every regard, and is certainly better in every way compared to the hero 1968 Mustang featured in the turn of the century film.
This Mustang has it all: An immaculate engine compartment featuring an Inglese EFI sitting on top of a 427ci small-block stroker making 550hp. Plus, perfect paint that is similar to, but not a copy of, the movie car's paintjob.
Additionally, all the interior work was done by Customs by Lopez, and it's running BC Forged wheels and sticky, Nitto NT05 tires. (Click here for the full feature)
