What can I say? Bimmerfest 2016 didn’t disappoint. It is by far the largest enthusiast car show I’ve attended so far – it's the largest BMW event in the U.S. – and what better place to gather than Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California? The second year at one of the only facilities that could host such a large event, Bimmerfest returned to the iconic racing venue to host their 17th annual show, choosing for the first time to extend the event to two days. Last year’s event grossed an excess of 10,000 attendees in one day!
It was great hearing the M3 inline 6’s roaring by as I snapped some photos of the various street car hot laps, wheel to wheel racing and Speed Venture’s Bimmer Challenge.
With more than 4,000 Bimmers on site and patrons to go along with it, Bimmerfest ensured there were plenty of food trucks (15+) to support.
BMW corporate brought out a rare sight – the M4 GTS, just 1 of 300 in the U.S. What a sight to behold. It was definitely a crowd stealer.
The Macca F1 GTR was a sight for sore eyes.
Bimmerfest wasn’t merely an event made for corporate to show off their goodies – it was very much a family-oriented event where all enthusiasts could demonstrate their pride and joy. Everything from project cars to brand new cars with freshly-added aftermarket industry modifications were at this event.
Kudos to the Bimmerfest event staff and sponsor ESS Tuning for seamlessly hosting such a quality event. Being a BMW owner myself, I look forward to covering this event again.
