This year is possibly the last for the current Ford Mustang Bullitt, and its replacement is the 2021 Mustang Mach1, which makes us wonder what Ford is really testing in these spy photos.
This prototype is wearing camouflage front and rear, but appears to be sporting the Dark Highland Green exterior paint that is one of the signature aspects of the current and past Bullitt iterations. Given the camouflage, whatever this vehicle is, it will probably wear some unique-to-this-model front-end and rear-end body work. The bumps under the front-end camo looks to be slightly different than what's currently available in the Mustang lineup.
Additionally, the silver, multi-spoke wheels appear to be more in line with what we'd see on the Mustang Pony Package, and the bright window trim seems to be right off the line from the current Bullitt package. Also perplexing is the extended, trumpet-tipped dual exhaust shooting out the back of the car that doesn’t look like it fits quite right.
We don’t know much more about the upcoming Mustang Mach 1, other than it will launch for the 2021 model year. Reports indicate that it will probably have some performance enhancements over the traditional Mustang GT it will be based on.
