While there are plenty of variables that go into a properly tuned suspension system, maybe the most important comes down to the shock absorbers. Since 2016, our ‘13 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon has been fit with a JKS Manufacturing suspension system. Coupled with a set of 37-inch-tall Nitto Ridge Grapplers, this 2.5-inch lift has given us many years of excellent on and off-road performance. However, as our Jeep has grown through the years, we’ve found that we’ve reached the limits of our Fox 2.0 Adventure Series shocks. Given we’ve had so many years of trouble-free service out of the nitrogen-charged shocks, we went back to the Fox brand when it was time to dial-in our suspension even further.
Not looking to do a drastic coilover conversion, we decided to opt for a more economical and user-friendly set of Fox 2.5 Factory Race Series Remote Reservoir shocks fit with DSC (Dual Speed Compression) adjusters. These bolt-on shocks are designed specifically for JK Wranglers running 2.5 to 4-inches of lift and offer 12-clicks of high-speed compression and 10-clicks of low speed adjustment. As we discuss in the video above, adjustability was critical for our needs and the DSC adjusters were a great solution for our needs. We have more adventures planned for this JK, so be sure to check back as we continue to dial-in the well-worn Wrangler.
