When it comes to rockcrawling, the lighter the rig, the easier it will be to roll over boulders. While full competition buggies have come a long way over the years, we’re now seeing that tech flow over into the recreation side of the hobby. A great example of this can be found with the Vice Unlimited-built buggy you see in the video above. We recently got a chance to sit down with the buggy’s builder, Tim Odell.
Odell is known for his one-off vehicle creations such as the Trophy T and Kymera. This 2.4L Ecotec-powered buggy was another great example of the unique rides that continue to roll out of the North Carolina based Vice Unlimited. While filming, Odell took a more challenging line at the Flats Offroad Park, which put the buggy on its lid. Unfortunately, the roll broke a Schrader valve on one of the ORI Struts, which meant our feature shoot got cut a little short. Thankfully, we had enough filming in the bag to show off this very cool less-is-more buggy.
