This episode of Driver Battles is an American muscle competition between two cars and drivers that have plenty of track time experience: Roy Narvaez’s 2015 Viper takes on Karen Salvaggio’s Factory Five Type 65. Both cars are built for the race track and running Nitto NT01s.
The Viper draws loads of power from a naturally aspirated V10 producing 645hp with plenty of aero and downforce perfect for a Time Attack style race—which is the driver’s favorite type of racing.
In the other corner is a Factory Five Type 65 Coupe, which is a replica of the venerable Shelby Daytona Coupe that was built to beat Ferraris and dominated racing in the mid-'60s. It looks vintage with era-correct aero and exhaust, but it’s powered by a crate 5.0L Coyote motor (435hp at the crank) with modern suspension and brakes.
