Here's something cool and unexpected: Honda announced plans to compete in the upcoming Red Bull Global Rallycross series with its new turbo'd 2016 Honda Civic coupe; they also partnered with Olsbergs MSE to have them do the driving.
Working in conjunction with Honda Performance Development (HPD), Olsbergs MSE took a production model coupe chassis and modified it to handle the punishment a competition like GRC can put a car through. Now it has 600-plus horsepower on tap, can do 0-60 in 1.9-seconds and is able to take on 70-foot table-top jumps.
Olsbergs MSE will put the Civic in action for the first time on May 21 and 22 at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Phoenix, Arizona.
